HALL OF HONOR 2005
Anton Charles Anderle
YHS Class of 1933
For every person who succeeds scores fail. For every honorable
life countless others do not understand the payoff of high
principles. For every person who seizes opportunities untold
others do not see openings. Anton’s life shows how one
man, alone, used the gifts God gave him to create a lasting
concern providing vital products and advice on their use to
customers in a wide area, support for many families over the
years through jobs he created, and a heritage for his own
family. He is the founder of Cameron’s Anderle Lumber
Company that began in 1947 to climb to most successful such
firm in the history of Milam County. Every small town, every
big city, depends on leaders like Anton to keep their communities
alive. His working life began with horticulture skills learned
from the Yoe High School agriculture teacher, A. C. Strickland,
and the county agricultural extension agent, George Banzaf.
Recommendations by Anton’s respected high school principal,
Guy T. Newton, opened the way for Anton to get started in
the local economy. He grew up the Ad Hall area, one of five
children of Will and Pauline Anderle.
