YHS Class of 1948
Robert’s
creative work, social skills, and business acumen have taken him to the
national level in an exciting field touching millions of lives—media

broadcast programs, video and films, live events and other media. Mere
samples of his credits show he was associate producer for inaugurations of
Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. For 14 years
he produced and staged opening ceremonies and entertainment for the annual
‘Christmas Pageant of Peace’ at the annual National Christmas Tree
lighting where performers included Placido Domingo, Tony Bennett, Wayne
Newton and others. PBS carried the Johnson Group’s ‘A Cry in the
Woods.’ The nation learned about The Smithsonian Institution’s 150th
anniversary through a national spot campaign by Robert’s company that has
won such awards as a Washington, D.C. Emmy, a Chris Award from Columbus Film
Festival and the George Washington Medal from Freedom Foundation in Valley
Forge, among many others. Excellence in television production is company
strength. Study in speech, communications, and theater at Austin College and

He’s a member of the talented, hard-working and honored McLane family that
lived in Cameron for three generations. Robert’s 35 years’ experience in

success of his company now doing some of its finest work.
