Michael W. Perrin, Attorney
YHS Class of 1965
Mike earned a dazzling
list of honors at home before winning the same high respect
at UT-Austin and in the practice of law in Houston. An Honor
Graduate of YHS, he was a 3-year All-District in football, Super
Cen-Tex half-back, All State Honorable Mention and High School
All-American. Coach Darrell K Royal awarded him a full scholarship
opening the way for 3 UT-Austin Varsity letters, All Southwest
Conference in 1967, Academic All-American Football Player 1968,
and National Football-College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete.
Demonstrating his wide scope of talents, he earned a BA Degree
in mathematics in 1969 then graduated UT-Austin School of Law
in 27 months before making the highest grade on the state bar
examination in February, 1972. Later as partner in the Houston
firm of Fisher, Gallagher, Perrin & Lewis, Mike brought in numerous
courtroom victories then went on to oversee the last years of
the Howard Hughes Corporation. In 2001 he heads the Houston
office of a 650-lawyer firm with offices also in Atlanta, New
York, and Washington, D.C. He is an influential Texas citizen
in Civic and Public affairs. Among other fundraising tasks for
UT-Austin he co-chairs "The Texas Campaign: An Investment in
Students" raising $8 million for the endowment. He is a lifelong,
active member of the Methodist Church.
